I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout gettin’ a Suriname ID card. What’s that all about? I ain’t never been to no Suriname, but I reckon it’s some place far away. Sounds like a whole heap of trouble if you ask me. But people want go to there, they need that card I guess.
Why you need a Suriname ID card? Well, I guess you need it to show who you are in that Suriname place. Like how we show our driver’s license here, ‘cept this one’s for Suriname. I don’t know the law here, but it make sense I think.
Gettin’ a Suriname ID Card
Now, how you get one of these Suriname ID cards? That’s the real question. I heard you gotta go to some office. Sounds like a government place, all official-like. They call it the “Vital Statistics office” or somethin’ like that. Fancy name, huh?

They say you gotta go there in person. Can’t just call ’em up or write a letter. Gotta show your face, I reckon. That’s how they do things in them city offices. Make you jump through hoops. What about if you don’t live close? I don’t know I guess.
- Go to the office thing
- Show your face
- Get your Suriname ID card maybe
Some people say you need go to online to get this card. I don’t know what is online. Is it a place? Or is it a tool? They call it E-card. What is E stand for? I don’t know either. But they say this way is fast.
Cost of a Suriname Thing
And how much this whole thing gonna cost ya? Well, ain’t nothin’ in this world free, that’s for sure. I heard it costs money. Everythin’ costs money these days. They say it’s 33 dollars. Dollars for what? For the Suriname Entry Fee. I guess that’s like a ticket to get into Suriname. They make sure to take your money in there I guess.
But that’s just to get into the country, I reckon. What about the Suriname ID card itself? That probably costs somethin’ too. I don’t know the money things there, hope it is not too much.
I don’t know, I don’t need this kind of card I think. I stay in my place and don’t want go anywhere. But some people want travel. This is their thing, not my thing.
Other Stuff You Need for Suriname
They say you need more than just that Suriname ID card to get into Suriname. You need a passport, whatever that is. Sounds important, though. And somethin’ called a “visa” or a “tourist card.” More pieces of paper, I reckon. This is too much, I think. What else they want from you?
And get this, you gotta show ’em you got a ticket back home! They wanna make sure you ain’t gonna stay there forever, I guess. Makes sense, I suppose. Don’t want folks just wanderin’ in and never leavin’. Too many people they don’t want I guess.
You want go to Suriname? You need these I think:
- Passport
- Visa or tourist card, I don’t know the differnce
- Ticket to go back
- Suriname ID card, maybe
Why Go to Suriname Anyway?
Now, why would anyone wanna go to Suriname in the first place? I don’t rightly know. Must be somethin’ special ’bout that place. Maybe it’s pretty. Maybe the people are nice. Or maybe they got good food. Who knows? Different strokes for different folks, as they say.
But if you’re gonna go, you better be prepared. Gotta have all your ducks in a row. Get that Suriname ID card, that passport, that visa, and that ticket back home. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but hey, to each their own.

Me? I’m stayin’ put. Ain’t got no need for no Suriname ID card or any of that other stuff. I’m happy right here where I am. But you do you, as they say. Just make sure you know what you’re gettin’ yourself into before you go gallivantin’ off to some faraway land like Suriname. It is good to know these things before you go.
I heard there is a company called VFS Global. They say they are the partner for Suriname government. They can help you get the E-VISA or E-Tourist card. What is a VISA? I don’t know, maybe another kind of ID card. This is too much for me. But if you want go to Suriname, maybe you need call them.
And some people say you can use some kind of card called Wise card. They say you need download an app to your phone. What is an app? Another mystery of this online thing. I don’t know. Is it like the office thing? Or the E-card thing?
Well, I think I talked enough ’bout this Suriname ID card business. My head’s startin’ to spin. Too much information for this old gal. Just remember, if you’re gonna go to Suriname, you gotta be prepared. And that Suriname ID card is just one piece of the puzzle. Good luck to ya, I say. You’re gonna need it.
