Alright, so you wanna get yourself a Jordanian driver’s license, huh? Well, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya how it is, no fancy talk, just straight to the point. It ain’t rocket science, but you gotta pay attention, ya hear?
First things first, you gotta figure out if you’re a Jordanian, a resident, or some foreigner. See, it makes a difference. If you’re a Jordanian or livin’ here, it’s one price, and if you’re just visitin’, well, it might be somethin’ else. They got different rules for everyone, just like how they got different ways of cookin’ beans, I tell ya.
Now, they got these offices, right? Places where they do all this driver’s license stuff. You gotta go there. Don’t just wander around like a lost sheep, find out where the office is and go there. And don’t forget your papers! You need somethin’ to prove who you are, like your ID or somethin’. And if you got a driver’s license from somewhere else, bring that too. But if it’s in some fancy language they don’t understand, get it translated, will ya? They ain’t got time to play guessin’ games.

Important stuff you gotta have
- Some kind of ID, ya know, to show who you are.
- If you got a license from another country, bring it along. And a translation if it ain’t in English or Arabic.
- Money, honey. Nothin’s free in this world. For Jordanians and residents, it’s like 20 JD, whatever that is. And if you’re part of that RACJ thing, it’s cheaper, 15 JD they say. Don’t ask me what RACJ is, I ain’t got a clue.
- You gotta fill out a form, too. They got different forms, so make sure you get the right one. And write your name nice and neat, the same way it’s on your license, if you got one.
Once you got all your papers and stuff, you gotta go through their process. I don’t know exactly what they do, but they’ll check your eyes, make sure you can see, and probably ask you some questions. Just be honest, don’t try to fool them, they ain’t stupid.
And listen, they care about road safety here. They got rules, you know, like stop signs and traffic lights. You gotta pay attention to that stuff, or you’ll end up in a ditch, or worse. And they got rules about what you gotta have in your car, like lights and stuff. So make sure your car is all fixed up before you go drivin’ around. It’s for your own good, believe me. Nobody wants a broken-down car on the side of the road, it’s just a pain in the neck.
Now, if you’re a foreigner and you just need a license for a little while, they got somethin’ called an International Driver’s License. It’s good in Jordan and a bunch of other places too. They say over 175 countries! Sounds like a lot to me. You can get that pretty quick, they say the documents are available instantly. Don’t ask me how, it’s all this newfangled technology these days. I stick to my old ways, myself.
And then there’s the fees, of course. They charge you for everything these days. If you’re gettin’ a license for the first time, it’s good for ten years and costs about 153.20 dinars. If you just want it for one year, it’s cheaper, only 18.20 dinars. And they got somethin’ for two years too, 33.20 dinars. Makes my head spin, all these numbers, but that’s how they do it.
So, that’s about it. It ain’t so hard, is it? Just get your papers, go to the office, pay your money, and follow their rules. And for goodness sake, be careful on the road! Drive safe, and don’t go causin’ no trouble. That’s all I gotta say.
Remember, driving is a serious business, not a game. Pay attention, follow the rules, and you’ll be just fine. And if you don’t, well, don’t come cryin’ to me.
That’s the whole story, as plain as I can tell it. Now go on and get your license, and don’t forget what I told ya!
