Alright, guys, I wanna share my little adventure today – getting an Indian visa online. It was a bit of a journey, so buckle up!
First off, I hit up this website. It’s where you start the whole process. I was a bit lost at first, honestly, but I figured it out eventually. The site lets you fill out the visa application form, pretty standard stuff. You gotta put in all your details, you know, the usual drill.
So, I started filling in the form. It asked for my personal info, passport details, travel plans, and all that jazz. I double-checked everything ’cause you don’t wanna mess that up. Once I was happy with it, I clicked submit. Fingers crossed, right?

Then came the waiting game. I found out that you can also check the status of your application on that same website, which is pretty cool. It’s like tracking a package, except it’s your visa!
I heard that for medical treatments using Ayush systems, they have a special e-Ayush visa. And apparently, there’s an attendant visa too, in case you are traveling with someone who needs it. I didn’t need those, but it’s good to know they exist.
My application was for a regular tourist visa, or an e-Tourist Visa (eTV). I read somewhere that this eTV thing has become super popular since it started back in 2014. Makes sense, it’s way more convenient than the old-school way. At present it is available for citizens of more than 100 countries.
After a few days of anxiously checking the status, boom! There it was. Approved! I did a little happy dance, not gonna lie. Then, I had to print out a physical copy of the application, sign it, and all that good stuff.
The Whole Process
- Go online: Found the website and started the application.
- Fill it out: Typed in all my info carefully.
- Submit and wait: Hit the button and waited (im)patiently.
- Check status: Kept refreshing the status page like a hawk.
- Success: Visa approved!
- Print and sign: Got the physical copy and signed it.
So yeah, that’s how I got my Indian visa online. It was a bit of a process, but totally doable. If you’re planning a trip to India, definitely go for the online visa. It saves you a trip to the embassy and a lot of hassle. Just remember to be patient and double-check everything. Safe travels, everyone!
