Alright, so, I needed a Belarusian driving license, and let me tell you, the whole process was a bit of a journey. First off, I had to find the right place to even apply. Turns out, it’s the Belarusian Automobile Federation. Who knew, right?
So, I went to their website. There’s an application form there that you need to fill out. It’s pretty standard stuff, nothing too complicated. Once I had that sorted, I needed to get a recent photo of myself. It had to be 3x4cm, which is a bit of a pain because you can’t just use any old selfie.
With the form filled and the photo ready, I gathered my valid Belarusian driver’s license – had to make sure that was up to date. You can’t have two EU licenses at once. Then, I submitted everything. Now, the waiting game. They say it takes about 5 working days to process everything. And, good news, they did it. They issued my new one!

- Find the application form on the Belarusian Automobile Federation’s website.
- Fill out the form and get a recent 3x4cm photo.
- Make sure your current license is valid.
- Submit everything and wait for about 5 working days.
If you’re a foreigner with a residence permit, your license will be valid for the time you can stay in the country legally. The whole thing was a bit of a hassle, but I got it done, and now I can drive around Belarus without any worries.
