Okay, here’s my experience about getting a visa for the Pitcairn Islands:
So, I decided to go on a trip to the Pitcairn Islands. This place is pretty remote, you know? First things first, I gotta figure out this whole visa situation. I started by hitting up Google, just typing in “Pitcairn Islands visa requirements”.
Turns out, if you’re planning to stay for 14 days or less, and you’re arriving and leaving on the same boat, you don’t even need a visa. Lucky for those short-term visitors, huh? But I was thinking of hanging around a bit longer, soaking up the island vibes, you know? So, I had to dig deeper.

For stays longer than 14 days, they need you to get a “clearance” before you even travel. I found out that you need to contact the Pitcairn Islands Office in New Zealand. They’re the ones who handle these things. The email address I got was admin@*. I drafted an email, explaining my travel plans and asking about the visa process. I made sure to include all my details, like my passport number and travel dates.
I sent the email and waited. The info I found said if you don’t hear back in two weeks, you should call them up. Their number is (649) 366 0186. Thankfully, I got a reply within a week. They sent me this application form and told me there’s a NZ$150 non-refundable fee. Bummer about the fee, but hey, it’s part of the process, right?
I filled out the form, making sure everything was accurate and submitted it back to them electronically. Then came the waiting game. It felt like forever, but in reality, it took about three weeks to get my visa approved.
They also told me that it’s pretty hard to get to the islands. There is no airport, no high-speed boat. It’s gonna take at least three to four days to get there. And it’s not cheap, either.
