Okay, so, I wanted to get a Mauritanian passport. I’d heard some chatter online about how you could get a second passport from certain places, and Mauritania was one of them. Sounded interesting, so I decided to give it a shot.
First things first, I did some digging. I found out that the Mauritian government is the one that actually gives out these passports. It’s an official travel document, you know? I also learned that these passports are usually good for a year and only have five pages for visas. Not a whole lot, but still something.
Next, I had to get the right form. I found out it was called PF136. I got a copy of it and started filling it out. Gotta make sure you sign it too, they’re serious about that.

Then there’s the whole documents thing. I learned you gotta gather a bunch of stuff to send in with the application. It seemed a bit complicated, but I figured, hey, if I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do it right.
I found that if I use the Mauritanian passport, I could get into some countries without a visa, which is pretty cool. Of course, for other places, you still need to do the whole visa process.
After gathering all my papers and double-checking everything, I submitted my application. It was a bit of a waiting game after that, but I just kept myself busy with other things.
Finally, the day came when I got the news – my application was approved! I was pretty excited. Holding that new Mauritanian passport in my hands was kind of surreal, to be honest. It felt like a whole new world of possibilities had opened up.
So yeah, that’s pretty much the story of how I got a Mauritanian passport. It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, but it wasn’t super difficult either. It was definitely an interesting experience, and I learned a lot along the way. I felt like I had accomplished something pretty unique.
And there you have it, I achieved my goal of obtaining a Mauritian passport!
