Alright, so I wanted to get to Gabon, and I heard the easiest way was to get an e-Visa. So I started looking into it. I found out that it’s pretty straightforward if you have all your documents ready. I’m an American citizen, so I went on their website, and there were like, these steps I needed to follow.
Getting Started
First, I had to fill out an application form. It was just like any other form, you know, name, address, passport info, the usual stuff. I made sure to double-check everything because I didn’t want any delays. You know how it is with these things, one small mistake and your application can be rejected. So, I took my time and filled it carefully.
Submitting Documents
Next up, I had to submit some documents. I needed a scanned copy of my passport, a recent passport-sized photo, and proof of accommodation in Gabon. I already had all these, so I just scanned them and uploaded them to the website. It was pretty easy, actually. The website was user-friendly, I must say. I was using their official app, which was also very intuitive.

- Passport: Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned trip.
- Photo: This had to be a recent photo, like within the last six months.
- Accommodation: I booked a hotel in advance, so I had the confirmation email ready.
Paying the Fee
After I submitted the form and documents, I had to pay the visa fee. It wasn’t too expensive, and they accepted major credit cards, which was convenient. I paid the fee, got a confirmation email, and that was it. I was told that the processing time is usually a few days, so I just had to wait.
Waiting Game
This was the hardest part, just waiting to hear back. I kept checking my email every few hours, even though I knew it would take a few days. I was a bit anxious, I won’t lie. I’ve had issues with visa applications before, so I was kind of expecting the worst. But, surprisingly, I got an email after just three days saying my visa was approved!
Success!
I was so relieved! The email had my e-Visa attached, which I printed out. It was a simple, one-page document with my photo and details on it. It looked pretty official, and I was glad I didn’t have to go through the hassle of visiting an embassy or consulate. So, yeah, that’s how I got my Gabon e-Visa. It was a pretty smooth process, overall. If you’re planning to visit Gabon, I’d definitely recommend going the e-Visa route. It’s easy, convenient, and much less stressful than the traditional way.
The whole experience was surprisingly simple. I got my e-Visa without any problems. It was all done online, from start to finish. So, if you’re heading to Gabon, don’t stress about the visa, just do it online!
