Where Can I Buy New Zealand ID Card Safely?

Okay, so, today I want to talk about getting a New Zealand ID card. I needed a personal identification card, and since I didn’t have a valid passport or driver’s license, I figured this was the way to go.

First off, I found out that this Kiwi Access Card is a legit form of ID here in New Zealand. It’s recognized everywhere, and it’s not just for New Zealanders – visitors can get one too. It was launched by Hospitality New Zealand, so that’s a good sign, right?

So, here’s how I went about it. I needed to fill out an application form. I didn’t do it online, just went and got a printed form from a participating NZ Post shop. Filled it out – make sure you use capital letters, by the way.

Next, I gathered all the documents they asked for. I didn’t have a New Zealand photo driver’s license, so that wasn’t an option for me. Thankfully, I had my full birth certificate, and I also grabbed my Eftpos card. They need that for the signature.

• Completed application form
• Full birth certificate
• Eftpos card (for signature)
• Two passport-sized photos
• Proof of address
• 60 bucks (including GST)

With everything in hand, I went to the NZ Post. Handed over my form, the photos, proof of address, and the 60 dollars fee. They checked everything, and that was it, pretty much.

Now, the waiting game. They said it takes about 2-3 weeks to get the card in the mail. I will update you guys in three weeks!
