Okay, here is my story about ordering a Lithuanian ID card online:
So, I’ve been meaning to get a Lithuanian ID card for a while now, because I plan to spend a lot of time there. The process seemed a bit daunting at first, but I decided to take the plunge and do it all online.
I started by doing some digging around to see what I needed. Found out there are a few different types of IDs, like the Alien’s Passport and the Diplomatic Passport, and even a Temporary Passport. I needed the regular ID card. I also browsed a bunch of websites that looked like they could help, but they mostly seemed to be selling custom-made stuff, not the real deal. Not what I was looking for at all. There was also a website claiming to have tons of results on ID card applications, but it didn’t look legit, so I steered clear of that one, too.

The Application
I finally found the official government website where I could apply for the ID card. The form was pretty straightforward, asking for the usual stuff like my name, date of birth, and address. I filled it all out, making sure to double-check everything because I didn’t want any mistakes messing things up.
Next, I had to upload a photo. I had taken one earlier, following the guidelines they had online. I made sure the lighting was good and my face was clearly visible, no smiling like a fool, just a neutral expression. I uploaded the photo and hoped it met their standards.
Payment and Submission
After that, it was time to pay the fee. It wasn’t too expensive, thankfully. I entered my payment details, hit submit, and crossed my fingers that it would go through without a hitch. And it did! I got a confirmation email right away, which was a relief.
The email said it would take a few weeks for my application to be processed. So, I just had to wait. I checked my email every day, hoping for an update. It was a bit nerve-wracking, not gonna lie, but I tried to stay patient.
The Wait
- Week 1: Nothing.
- Week 2: Still nothing.
- Week 3: Finally!
I got an email saying my application was approved! I was so excited. They said my ID card would be mailed to me within a week or two. More waiting, but at least I knew it was coming.
Receiving the ID
About ten days later, a package arrived. I ripped it open, and there it was – my brand new Lithuanian ID card! It looked just like the pictures online, with my photo and all my details. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. I did it, I ordered my ID card online, and it was finally in my hands.
The whole process was actually much easier than I expected. Yeah, there was some waiting involved, but it all worked out in the end. Now, I’m all set for my adventures in Lithuania! It’s a great feeling to have this important document.
