Alright, so I needed to get my Pakistani passport sorted, and I decided to try doing it all online. Here’s how it went down, step by step.
First off, I went to this e-Services Portal thing. Seemed like the official spot to start. I hit the “Get Started” button, and it took me to the registration page. Pretty standard stuff here.
- Registration: I had to create an account, which involved punching in my details. You know, the usual – name, email, password, and all that jazz.
- Filling out the form: Once my account was set up, I got into the actual passport application form. It’s a bit of a long one, but nothing too crazy. I just filled in all my personal info, address, previous passport details if you have one, and so on.
- Uploading docs: This was a bit of a pain, but it’s necessary. I had to scan and upload a bunch of documents. I made sure the scans were clear.
- Payment: After all the form-filling and uploading, I had to pay the passport fee. They had a few online payment options, so that was pretty convenient. I picked one and paid up.
- Confirmation: Once the payment went through, I got a confirmation email. It had a tracking number and all that. They said it would take a few weeks to process.
And that was basically it. The whole process was pretty straightforward. I just followed the steps on the website, and it was all done online. No need to go to any offices or stand in line, which was a huge relief.
Now, it’s just a waiting game. I’ll update this post when I actually get my passport. But so far, the online process has been smooth. Fingers crossed the rest of it goes just as well!
I also read somewhere that if you get the new e-Passport, you can use the e-gate thing at airports. That sounds pretty cool, no more long lines at immigration. Plus, I heard they have this Fast Track service now where you can get your passport delivered in 24 hours. I didn’t need it that fast, but it’s good to know they have that option.
Anyway, if you’re a Pakistani citizen and need to renew or get a new passport, I’d say give the online thing a shot. It’s way easier than the old way of doing things. Just make sure you have all your documents ready to upload, and you should be good to go!
Update: Just got my new e-Passport in the mail! It took a bit longer than I expected, but it’s finally here. The online process worked out in the end.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it all went. It’s definitely a big improvement from the old days of having to physically go to the passport office and deal with all the hassle. If you’re a Pakistani citizen, I’d definitely recommend trying the online application process.
Just remember to be patient, especially during the waiting period. It might take a little while, but it’s worth it in the end to avoid all the lines and paperwork.
Hope this helps anyone who’s thinking about applying for a Pakistani passport online. Good luck!
