You wanna get yourself a Zambian passport, huh? Well, it ain’t as easy as pie, but I’ll tell ya what I know. See, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market the other day. They was sayin’ it’s a whole rigmarole.
First, you gotta get some Zambian passport application forms. Lord knows where you get ’em, but I reckon you can write to some fancy place. And it should be sent by e-mail or by mail. They got this place, it called the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia. Maybe they can help ya. Sounds important, don’t it?
You best believe you gonna need some pictures, too. Not just any old pictures, mind ya. Passport size photos, they call ’em. Two of ’em, they say. You gotta look all proper and such. No smilin’ like a fool, I reckon. Just stand straight and take a photo. So, remember put two passport size photos into your document bag.

Now, I heard tell you need some other things, too. You need your birth paper, you know, the one that says when you was born and all that. A Zambian birth certificate is what they call it. It has to be the real deal, a valid one, they say. No fakin’ it! And you gotta have lived in Zambia for a spell. They want proof you been there, somethin’ called a residency permit.
They say you gotta fill out all the parts of them forms, every last one of ’em. Don’t go skippin’ nothin’, or they’ll just send it right back at ya. And write neat, ya hear? So they can read it. They ain’t gonna waste no time on sloppy writin’. Make sure all your words are in that paper.
- You gotta have that Zambian passport application form.
- Two passport size photos.
- A valid Zambian birth certificate.
- A residency permit from Zambia.
- And fill out all the paper.
Now, if you done lost your passport, that’s a whole other can of worms. There’s some downloadin’ involved, I hear. You gotta get on that computer machine and find the right place to click. They said “APPLICATION FOR LOST PASSPORT”, you should download it. Sounds like a headache to me. If you are not good at computer, you can ask someone to help you.
And get this, they say it takes a good long while. Like, a minimum of thirty days, I heard. That’s a whole month! So you gotta be patient. They don’t just hand these things out like candy, ya know. And they say you can only get ’em at certain places in Zambia. Places like Lusaka and Ndola. That is where they got them passport offices.
They say you gotta go to some office, too. The passport and citizen office, they call it. You gotta show up in person, I reckon. Can’t just send someone else to do it for ya. They wanna see your face, make sure you ain’t some kinda crook or somethin’. And they will check your document there. So you gotta prepare all the document they need, or they will not give you the Zambian passport.
It is a lot to think about, isn’t it? But if you really want that Zambian passport, you gotta do what they say. Just follow the rules, fill out them forms, and be patient. And remember, you gotta show up to that office. That is important thing they said. That’s all I know about it.
This whole thing sounds like a lot of work to me. But I guess if you really need that Zambian passport, you gotta do what you gotta do. Just remember all them steps and don’t get yourself into a twist. It ain’t worth gettin’ all worked up over. Just take it one step at a time, and you’ll get there eventually. They said you just need a little patient. Then you will get your Zambian passport.
I hope this helps you some. Just remember what that old lady told you, and you’ll be alright. I ain’t no expert, but I do know that if you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it done. Just do not give up so easy. Good luck to ya, I say. You gonna need it with all this Zambian passport business. It is not so easy to get a Zambian passport. But I know you can make it.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got on this whole Zambian passport thing. It is very complex. Just remember what I told ya, and you’ll be just fine. And don’t go tellin’ everyone your business, ya hear? Keep it to yourself, and you won’t have no trouble. That’s what I always say. If someone asks you about how to get the passport, you can tell them what I said. It may help them.
