Order a Saint Martin passport: Your Complete Guide to Applying Online and Offline

Today, I wanna share my experience of getting a Saint Martin passport. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be, so buckle up!

First Steps

First off, I had to get an appointment with the Consular Affairs department. Sounds fancy, right? It’s part of the Cabinet of the Governor, whatever that means. Anyway, I found out you can only call them between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Seriously, just one hour! Their number is (001-721) 542-1199, in case you need it. I called them up, and they gave me a date for the appointment. Simple enough, or so I thought.

Passport Validity

Next, I checked my current passport. Turns out, it needed to be valid for at least six months after my planned arrival date in St. Maarten. Mine was cutting it close, so I had to renew that first. A bit of a hassle, but better safe than sorry. My travel agent also confirmed this, so it wasn’t just me being paranoid.

Visiting St. Maarten

I found out that as a US citizen, I could stay in St. Maarten for up to 90 days without a visa. That’s plenty of time for a good vacation or even a short business trip. Dutch vs. French Side
