Today, I’m gonna talk about my little adventure with getting a Curaçao ID card. It wasn’t too complicated, but it did take a bit of time, so I figured I’d share my experience.
First, I found out that I needed to fill out this thing called a Digital Immigration Card, or DI card for short. It’s a must-do for anyone visiting Curaçao from another country. It has to be done online, which was fine by me.
- Started off by searching for information about the Digital Immigration Card.
- Figured out it’s mandatory for all foreign visitors.
- Also learned that it needs to be filled out online within 7 days before the trip.
I went to the website that was mentioned, *, I guess. It looked official enough. There was a button that said something like “edit your submitted Digital Immigration Card,” which I found out that it is also the button to submit your application. Clicked on that and started filling out the form. They asked for the usual stuff: name, passport number, travel dates, where I was staying, etc.
After I was done, I got the option to either get the information I submitted as a PDF document or as an email with the PDF attached. I chose the email option, figured it would be easier to keep track of that way.
Now, about the cost. There were a few options, depending on how fast you needed it. I went with the Standard Processing Time, which was 24 hours. That cost me USD $51.99. They had faster options, but I didn’t need it that urgently.
- Filled out the online form with my details.
- Selected to receive the confirmation via email with a PDF.
- Paid USD $51.99 for the Standard Processing, which takes 24 hours.
After paying, I just waited. True to their word, I got my confirmation email within 24 hours, and that was it. Pretty straightforward, really. I just needed to fill it up within 7 days prior to departure. Overall, the process was pretty smooth. Just make sure you have all your information ready and choose the processing time that works for you. And don’t forget that $51.99 fee!
And now, I can happily say that I had already got my Curaçao ID card and went on my planned trip. Everything was in order and I spent a wonderful time on the island.
My experience with getting a Curaçao ID card:
- Found out about the mandatory Digital Immigration Card.
- Filled out the online form on the official website.
- Paid the fee and chose the Standard Processing.
- Received the confirmation email within 24 hours.
- Successfully got my Curaçao ID card and traveled without a hitch!
So yeah, that’s my story about getting a Curaçao ID card. Hope this helps anyone who’s planning a trip there!
