Alright, so I’ve just gone through the process of getting a Uganda visa online, and let me tell you, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. I figured I’d share my experience in case any of you are planning a trip to Uganda and need to sort out your visa.
First things first, I started by doing a quick search online about Uganda visa requirements. You know, just to get a general idea of what I was in for. I stumbled upon some information about different types of visas and which nationalities needed them, similar to what the Tonga Visa Guide mentioned, but for Uganda, of course.
Then, I headed over to what seemed to be the official website for Ugandan immigration, but I found myself in a maze of various options, it was not an easy job to find where to click. Clicked around a bit until I found the section for e-visas.

- Filled out the application form. Pretty standard stuff: name, passport details, travel dates, you get the drift.
- Uploaded a photo of myself and a scan of my passport.
Now, the payment part was a bit tricky. I tried paying using gift cards, but the website didn’t support it. This website didn’t accept cryptocurrency, either. The website just doesn’t like that.
Finally, I paid it with my credit card, I remembered that I saw some news about Uganda’s mobile service, maybe I should try it next time!
After submitting everything, I got a confirmation email. They said it would take a few business days to process. I actually received an email saying my visa was approved. Not bad, right?
My Tips:
- Make sure you have digital copies of your photo and passport ready to upload.
- Double-check all the information you enter on the application form.
- Be patient during the processing period.
Overall, it was a pretty straightforward process. Once you get past the initial confusion of finding the right website and figuring out the payment, it’s smooth sailing. If I can do it, you can too! Hope this helps anyone planning a trip to Uganda!
