Okay, so I needed to get into Guinea for a project. And I heard that getting a visa could be a pain, but I found out it’s actually pretty straightforward if you do it online. Let me tell you how I got mine.
First off, I found out that you can actually apply for a Guinea visa online. It’s called an eVisa. So I started looking into it. You know, whether or not I even needed one since I’m from the United States, and, yes, you do.
So, I started checking out different websites. I wanted to make sure I got all the info right. Some of these sites were all like, “We’ll simplify it for you!” and wanted me to fill out their forms. They were trying to be helpful, sure. But I was more interested in figuring it out on my own.

The first thing I did was find the right website. It had this online application platform, just for the eVisa. It looked pretty official, and it’s where you start your application process.
I got down to it and started filling out the application. It was your typical stuff: name, passport number, travel dates, you know, the usual. They also asked me why I was visiting, so I just put down the details of my project.
Then I double-checked everything like a hundred times because you don’t want to mess up your visa application. Once I was sure everything was correct, I submitted the form.
The Waiting Game
- After hitting submit, it was just a waiting game. I was a little nervous, to be honest, but it wasn’t too long before I got an email saying my eVisa was approved.
- I printed it out, and that was it.
Honestly, it was way easier than I thought it would be. So, if you’re planning to go to Guinea, I definitely recommend getting your eVisa online. It saves you a trip to the embassy, and it’s pretty quick. And it worked for me, so it should work for you, too.
