Alright, so you wanna get yourself a Bangladesh passport, huh? Lemme tell ya, it ain’t like buyin’ a bag of rice at the market, but it ain’t rocket science neither. Things have changed, y’know. They got this newfangled thing called e-passport now. Fancy, huh?
First off, they say you gotta do this online thing. Online application, they call it. Sounds complicated, but my grandkids say it ain’t so bad. You go on the internet, fill out some forms. They gonna ask you all sorts of questions, like your name, your daddy’s name, where you was born, all that stuff. Make sure you don’t lie, ’cause they’ll find out, and then you’ll be in a heap of trouble.
Now, after you finish fillin’ out them forms, they gonna send you somethin’ called a “pdf.” Don’t ask me what that means, it’s just computer stuff. You gotta print that thing out. Yeah, you heard me right, print it! On paper! Like in the old days. Then you gotta take that paper and go to somethin’ called the “Passport Office.”

- Fill out the online application form.
- Print the “Online Application Form” (that pdf thingy).
- Go to the Passport Office.
At the Passport Office, they gonna take your picture and your fingerprints. They call it “biometric data.” Sounds scary, but it just means they wanna make sure you’re really you. They don’t want no sneaky folks tryin’ to get passports they ain’t supposed to have, see? It’s all about keeping things safe, they say. Makes sense, I guess. Too many bad apples in the world these days.
Now, about that online application thing. They say you gotta make an account, like you do for everything these days. And you gotta have a password. Don’t go forgettin’ your password, or you’ll be in a pickle! My grandson, he’s always forgettin’ his passwords. Drives me crazy! If you do forget it, though, I think they can help you, but it’s better to just remember it in the first place. And don’t go sharin’ your password with nobody, you hear?
And get this, they don’t need no papers no more! No need for papers! Back in my day, you needed a whole stack of papers, signed by this person and that person. Now, it’s all on the computer. Times sure have changed.
Some folks say this e-passport thing is faster and easier. Bangladesh, they say, is the first country in South Asia to have this e-passport thing. Well, good for them! Makes things easier for everyone, I suppose. My neighbor’s son got his e-passport last year, and he said it was pretty smooth. No hassle, he said. That’s what we all want, right? No hassle.
They got different fees for different types of passports, I hear. Just like everything else, gotta pay for it. But I don’t know the exact prices, so you gotta check that out yourself. Don’t go blamin’ me if it costs more than you expect!
So, to sum it all up, get online, fill out the form, print it, go to the Passport Office, give ’em your fingerprints and picture, and pay the fee. Sounds easy enough, even for an old woman like me. Well, not for me exactly, but for you young folks. You youngsters and your computers, you should have no problem. Just remember, don’t lose that password, and don’t lie on the application. And be patient. Things take time, y’know. Nothin’ good ever comes easy.
Getting an e-passport is simple, they say. Three simple steps. Google it, they say. Well, maybe if you’re good with that computer stuff. Me, I’d rather just ask my grandson. He knows all about these things. But for you, maybe googling ain’t so bad.
Anyway, good luck gettin’ your Bangladesh passport. Hope it all goes smooth for ya. And remember, be honest, be patient, and don’t forget that password!
